The Black Sea at a glance
Although the Black Sea coast is easy to reach, very few visitors go that way. Yet it offers miles of clean beaches and forest landscapes. The people are very hospitable and the food is delicious, traditional and inexpensive.
The coastline is abound with hazel, tea, cherry, pear, tobacco plantations, while further offshore, the vegetation becomes wild, with its forests of fir, beech trees and ferns, where bears still roam.
In inland cities such as Safranbolu, Amasya and Kastamonu provide beautiful examples of Ottoman architecture. The main sites to see are: Trabzon, Sumela, Rize, Ayder, Coruh Valley. The Kackar Mountains are a fantastic terrain for hiking tours.
